Discover Fort Leonard Wood

Welcome Graduation Families, Military Members coming to training, and all visitors to St. Robert, home to the Fort Leonard Wood Installation.  We are proud to house the U.S. Army Maneuver Support Center of Excellence (MSCoE) here at Fort Leonard Wood, where chemical, engineer, military police and transportation Soldiers, Marines, Airmen, Sailors, and International Students from allied nations receive training.

Fort Leonard Wood is a thriving and prosperous installation that has evolved from a small basic training post 70 years ago to a premier Army Center of Excellence that trains 80-90,000 military and civilians each year. In addition, nearly 200,000 families and friends attend their loved ones’ graduations at Fort Leonard Wood each year. Find more information on Graduations HERE.

The fort is located in Pulaski County, which has a population of 52,274. Bordering the installation to the north are the towns of Waynesville, population 4,830, and St. Robert, population 4,340. The post is two miles south of Interstate 44. St. Louis is a two-hour drive to the east along Interstate 44 and Springfield, Mo., is a little more than an hour’s drive to the west.

Fort Leonard Wood, the gateway to the Missouri Ozarks, offers great attractions for the whole family. It is a sportsman’s paradise offering more than any outdoorsman could find the time to do. The rivers and streams flowing through and near the post are crystal clear, providing an ideal home for many types of fish. Hunters will find the woods thick with game. Cave lovers will be happy to hear that Missouri is often called the Cave State. There are several caves on the Fort Leonard Wood installation.

In addition – outdoor sports, museums, Civil War battlefields, historic homes and buildings, shopping and antiques, concerts, big-league sports, plays and ballets are all within driving distance of Fort Leonard Wood.
